Approaching winter – is it a good time to sell?
Yes, absolutely. And you know why? The industry starts to hibernate when it gets cold. And it wakes up again in the springtime. But why would we say now is a good time to sell. Because the ‘stock’ that comes onto the market in winter is limited at best. That means that the number of new properties coming onto the market in winter is lower than in the summer months. There are still buyers, but they have fewer options.
When do increases kick in and when can buyers qualify for a bigger home?
Also, if anyone gets an increase at the end of the financial year, and your salary goes up in March, then you could expect a new payslip for the month of March, April, and May. This means that when applying for finance, new buyers will be required to present bank statements for at least 3 months. And this on a new salary or increase. So, buyers, are still in the market and they will not stop coming onto the market either, but with little or less stock available.
