It’s true. Buyers have the ability in the first 15 seconds of seeing your home to fall in love. Offers will come. But my question is what do buyers see when they look at your home? What are the first 15 seconds like for them?
What are the very best features of your home?
I say that because as a woman, I also fall in love with a garden. The garden happens to be the first thing buyers will see when they enter my property. Our patio is gorgeous too. So, when I put my property on the market which I plan to do soon, which entrance do I bring buyers through that really showcases the parts of our home that are the very very best features? Our pool is also gorgeous so throw in the colourful pool pillow and a lilo or two. Fresh flowers from our garden and throughout the house. Tidy up and pack away- your home will also look more spacious. I will also be popping something nice in the slow cooker for our show day.
You see I know exactly what a bad show day is all about. I know what a good show day is all about and it’s all about the experience. I do plan to go all out, because I want my home to stand out above all the others in the price range, in my street, and in the general neighbourhood. Our home must literally ‘pop’. My first 15 seconds is crucial.
We all fall in love with kitchens and bathrooms
As a woman, we do tend to fall in love with kitchens and bathrooms. If the kitchen looks terrible that’s a no no. But there are ways to spruce it up. Kind of like putting lipstick on a bulldog. Pretty little tea towels. Clean, neat and sparkly. Pack away stuff. Better yet, start packing the stuff you don’t need buyers to see. The kitchen is often the heart of the home. How about a bunch of flowers from your garden?
Bathroom Hacks
There are definitely some things you can change in a bathroom, but some not. White looks great. But if you have vintage green in the bathroom, spruce it up with nice white towels. If blinds in a bathroom look absolutely terrible, take them down. Chances are the frosted glass is clean. White little towels and white accessories in a vintage bathroom can lighten it so nicely. Chances are the buyer will gut the bathroom and refresh it with new fixtures and fittings. Do your best to lift but don’t blow the budget.
