But back to the topic. Building your brand as an estate agent or property practitioner is essential to stand out from the market and to attract new clients.
Here’s a list of a few things to think about as estate agent and building a brand
- Define your brand identity: What makes you unique as a solo agent or a team? What are your strengths, and values, and what personality traits do you bring to the party that set you apart from the competition? Having a business powered by the largest real estate franchise in the world already brings quite of differentiation to the mix.
- Identify your target audience: Who are your clients? What do they do for a living? Where do they live? What do they earn? Family? Children?Pets? And more to the point, what do they need and how can you help them? What do your ideal clients prefer and what are their pain points? It is essential that you tailor your brand and your marketing message in such a way that you speak to a client or up to a client. Speak to what they want and what they need help with. Find what resonates with your target audience.
- Logo: Do you have a logo that you have been doodling? Does this give you something that will be memorable and will it have a visual impact and let your audience know what you are about? Think of how the visual identity of your brand will ‘render’ big word on social media, business cards, flyers, golden letters and more. What font will work what colours do you want to work with and why? Remember you want to be remembered and it must look appealing.
- What is your story? Share your story as an estate agent or a team. What inspired you or what inspires you every day? What is your big Why in life and where are you headed as a property practitioner? What are your unique experiences? What would you say your expertise is? And a biggie, what achievements have you synched?
- Your online presence: Are you working towards a tried and tested formula? Are you in control of your social media presence? It’s about finding the balance between showing love to your clients first before they love you. Some social media platforms are harder. Some are easier. Some get you the results you need. But let me ask you what do you want to achieve with social media. Do you have goals and a strategy in place? Gosh, we have some social media greats at Keller Williams. Truly. And we get to learn from the greats from all over the world and apply what’s working across the world in SA. Just like that. Join online, learn, make notes and leverage what you like. Are you creating dynamic content? Are you sharing your expertise? Are you entertaining? Are you knowledgeable? Do you have a call to action on ALL your work? Do you have a business or a personal profile for your business?
- Providing exceptional service: Your brand will ultimately be defined by the quality of service you provide. If you focus on delivering exceptional service to your clients and leverage this online, you will certainly have more opportunities to grow your business.
- Offer valuable content: And I mean original content too. No something that is always reposted. Sit down and figure out what you have to say because if you are a seasoned superhero there is a lot you can share to help people. And when you help people and help them solve problems, you have a strong strategy and people will love you before they pick you to sell their biggest asset. Blogs, videos, and downloadable stuff all work. You need to break through the clutter so to speak.
- Network and build relationships: How often do you go to talks, join networking events and join professional associations? There is a lot to be said for making a difference at a school event or joining an event in your area. Meet with competitors. Interview top agents and let the world know you have great big plans in the real estate space.
- Rave reviews: Have you got testimonials or rave reviews from customers that you can share and showcase? I always say to rookie agents, ask for feedback. If it’s not good work on your game. If it’s good then share it with the world. None of us are perfect and it gets busy but always deliver exceptional experiences that get you headlines in social media and get you noticed for consistently delivering on the promise. Rave reviews build credibility for your new brand.
- Promote your brand, consistently: It all starts with a plan and it takes persistent repetition to keep going that gets you noticed. Clients want to work with someone who has a good reputation and you will after all be selling their biggest asset so build and promote your brand. Pick a day or two or three to promote your brand and you keep doing that. Doing the right things often will get you noticed by the people who need your help. Also, building a brand takes time. It does not happen overnight so buckle up and commit to this for a good 6 months and if you do it well you will start to see and get the results you need.
