Sectional title units and gardens

Selling a Sectional Title Unit in Randburg

Let’s sell my sectional title unit.  And by the way, my garden looks great.  You see, it’s true, gardens will help to sell homes.  And, hopefully like me, unable to work during lockdown I was able to invest some time in my garden and it has paid off.  My garden looks fantastic.

Selling your sectional title unit, but your garden looks terrible

Many potential buyers love the idea of gardening but will be put off by a garden that appears to be out of control or in bad shape.  It really is true that well-maintained gardens do help to sell homes. An unkempt garden could even work against you when you sell your property.  And this is because buyers are more amenable to buying a home that is 100% ready to move in, with no work required.  Also, when your garden and the outside of your home looks fantastic and in great shape, you are even more likely to sell your home for a better price.  So, make use of your time now and see it as an investment.  We hope you will be inspired to get stuck into your garden and spend some time working on the outside of your house, especially as the days are still sunny and you can soak up a little more Vitamin D. There can be no doubt that well-maintained gardens sell homes.

Some affordable, free outside chores to inspire your gardening

In order to get the garden in your sectional title unit ready to sell, here are some little things you can do to start getting your garden into shape.  And what’s more, these chores cost nothing and you can sneak in a little exercise albeit passive to include:

  • Raking leaves after the winter.
  • Weed your garden especially after all the rain.
  • Trim trees, shrubs, and hedges around your garden.
  • Separate your perennials and replant them to fill gaps in your garden.
  • Break off pieces of your healthy succulent plants.  Just push them into the soil and watch them grow.
  • Clean all your gutters if you have not already done so.
  • Sort out the outside drains and throw in some bleach.
  • Clean out your dog’s kennels and wash all the bedding and air dry.
  • Check your security and alarm.  Test the system regularly.
  • Oil all your door hinges, inside and out, especially the squeaky ones.
  • Examine and fix all your leaking external taps. It’s costing you money.
  • Coil your hose up nice and neatly.
  • Check all your external lights.  Clean and replace the globes where necessary.
  • Inspect your property, look for small anthills and protect your foundations.
  • Check to see if any roof tiles have moved or are broken.

What’s hiding in your garage or shed?

Do you have anything lying around in your shed that could be used to get a little DIY project going?  Here are some of the things that could keep you busy:

  • I had various types of fertilizer lying in my shed for lawn, fruit trees, shrubs, and more.  Use it.  Make space and clean up.
  • I had borrowed a Karcher from a friend that I decided to put to good use.  The shower now looks fantastic as does the driveway.
  • I found some sandpaper, wood primer, and some brilliant white enamel that has been there for ages.  I painted the doorframes in our home that really needed attention and they look great.
  • There was even a tin of wood sealer on the ledge.  As a family, we got involved and sanded down a table and an outside door.  The sealer looks great too.
  • I even found some bright red chalk paint that had already hardened because it was so old.  I added a little water and painted all our small photo frames which I then hung in our passage.  They look fantastic.
  • I took a morning to knock some long nails into the wooden frame of our shed to hang our garden implements nicely.  The shed really does look loads better, neater, and a little more organised.

The current housing market and especially for sectional title units?

The property market is very buoyant at the moment.  Especially in the buyer’s market, meaning there is more stock than there are buyers.
